A real estate investor usually targets commercial or residential real estate. There are however investors who can manage both. You will need to have a lot of experience in residential real estate investing if you want to be able to manage commercial real estate investing. However, in many cases, the residential real estate experience you have won't suffice. Investments in commercial real estate require sufficient capital. They also need to be able to learn new things because they deal with high-powered business people who are very analytical and will expect more from you. Commercial real estate investing can be more rewarding than residential.
